Teenage Sensation Dismisses Auger-Aliassime in Straight Sets
Carlos Alcaraz has once again proven his dominance on clay, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2024 French Open with a commanding 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Relentless Performance from Alcaraz
The young Spaniard was in imperious form throughout the match, dictating the pace of play with his blistering groundstrokes and suffocating defense. Auger-Aliassime, despite a promising start, was overwhelmed by Alcaraz's relentless aggression and made numerous unforced errors.
Alcaraz broke Auger-Aliassime's serve twice in the first set and once in each of the second and third sets. The Canadian managed to save three break points in the opening set but was unable to keep up with Alcaraz's relentless pace.
By reaching the quarter-finals, Alcaraz has extended his unbeaten streak on clay to 27 matches. He is now the youngest player since Rafael Nadal in 2005 to reach the last eight at the French Open.
